Why should I pay for a photographer when my friend has a really good camera?

When you book a professional photographer you are not just getting someone with a camera. You are getting someone that knows how to compose an image, how to get the best from a subject, how to pose people so they look their best and how to use the camera as a tool.

Why do you edit your images?

My philosophy when delivering images to you is that they should be the best they can be. This means I don't just 'shoot and burn'. After the session itself is over I spend hours going over the images and selecting only the best. These images are then edited for colour correction, white balance and exposure correction. This way you can be sure the images you receive are the best they can be.

Whats the difference between editing and retouching?

Editing a session includes going through all the shots and taking out any that are duplicates, removing images that have caught you mid blink or in an unflattering manner. They also go through colour, white balance and exposure correction.

Retouching an image is going a step further. This includes removing blemishes, evening out skin tones, brightening eyes, removing wrinkles from clothing and other distracting elements and much more. The images you see on magazine covers are fully edited and retouched.

I don't look like a super model and I'm worried my images will be horrible.

Everyone feels this way, even professional models!

The key to getting a beautiful image of yourself is knowing the angles and poses that work for you. When you aren't someone who does that for a living it can be difficult. Thats where I come in. I have shot people of all ages, all sizes and shapes. I will coach you through the poses that are the most flattering for YOU.

The one comment I always hear when I deliver the final images to a client is "I didn't know I could look like that! It doesn't even look like me!"

The thing is I deliver images that look like you, as I see you. We all look in the mirror and see ourselves through our own skewed vision. We see the negatives and focus on them. When I look at you I see the beauty and originality that is YOU, and that is what I deliver.

How long do I have to wait for the images after the session?

You will then receive your images within 4 weeks of the shoot date. It may be sooner but will never be longer. I know how hard it is to wait and will get them  to you as soon as possible!
